Meeting the Challenge to Supply More Women Offshore

It is now recognised that there is a growing need for workforce diversity within the oil and gas industry and according to the 2012 UKCS Workforce Demographics Report - “The female workforce still makes up a very small proportion of the offshore population – just 3.7 per cent with 30 per cent of those working in catering.”

Northumberland based offshore recruitment agency HSE Offshore are laying the foundations for a sustainable future for women in the industry by partnering with a number of oil and gas companies to provide recruitment solutions which reflect diversity and equal opportunities. To that end, the team at HSE Offshore are proactive in encouraging women to explore a career in the oil and gas industry. This in turn is giving companies the solutions they need to increase their statistics of female workers.

HSE Offshore was founded by Managing Director Ruth Jones and specialises in the provision of high calibre HSE personnel to energy industries globally. Ms Jones states “We are seeing a trend of clients requesting women workers across their fleet and we are project managing their growth aspirations in this area; we are now recruiting a wide range of offshore positions for both contract and permanent positions.
